Youth Without Youth
Based on a Mircea Eliade work. For those who don’t know, Mircea Eliade was one of the most interesting philosophers and anthropologists of the XXth century. The film is directed by Francis Ford Coppola with a brilliant cast: Tim Roth, Alexandra Maria Lara, Bruno Ganz, Andre M. Hennicke, Marcel Iures, Alexandra Pirici…
You need at least some basic knowledge of philosophy to get the most out of this film so it’s a delicious film for those of you who study or studied humanistics (philosophy, linguistics, philology, anthropology, human geography, classical languages, archaeology, etnography, religion, literature and such). But don’t let that stop you. It has something for everyone. Beautiful and moving. Wonderful if you like to use your brain.

It is indeed a very… poetic movie. And philosophical. Has little details that fails my 5 stars qualification. But it is highly recommendable, and very beautiful to watch.
